Editor's Perspective

Along with the plans for each of KMI Media Group’s eight magazines, we are also deciding which of the growing number of trade shows and conferences to attend. As budgets tighten both in the military and for the defense suppliers and manufacturers, the decision on where to go and with how many people is critical. Many events have seen a decline in military attendance. Even though everyone recognizes it’s not necessarily the number of people but the number of right people, the numbers do matter in order to maximize the value of the event.

We at KMI have no plans to reduce the number of events we attend and will work with as many organizers as possible to promote those events to bring out as many key individuals as possible to hear the presentations and briefings and to see the latest and greatest that industry has to offer. If you are planning an event, whether for the military medical community or for any of the areas that KMI Media Group specializes in, please contact us so we can coordinate efforts to make those events pay off for everyone involved.

One change worthy of note for 2009 centers around the annual TRICARE health care conference traditionally held near the end of January. The 2009 event has been postponed to a date to be named later in the year. We will be sure to let everyone know when the new date has been announced as this has always been a great event.
